Many people still believe that a sexual health test is embarrassing and possibly painful.
However, there have been great advances in the carrying out of the Chlamydia test. In fact, there are even mobile sexual health testing units available in some cities, which can offer quick tests - see here for one example.
The main reason to take a Chlamydia test - aside from peace of mind - is to ensure that you are treated quickly. After all the affects of leaving Chlamydia untreated can be very serious.
And while you may be embarrassed about going for a Chlamydia test, there is no reason to be. It simply shows that you are responsible enough to check on your sexual health.
